ROMCHIMICA, in collaboration with the Romanian Ministry of Finance and Cefic, organized the workshop “CBAM – legislative framework, implementation and reporting”.
The specialists provided useful information on the implementation status and reporting obligations in force during the transition period, with an emphasis on the importers compliance task.
The CBAM legislation was agreed in December 2022 and has entered into force in May 2023, with the scope covering goods from the cement, fertilizers, hydrogen, iron and steel, aluminum, and electricity sectors. The transitional phase for reporting started on 1 October 2023 and will run until the end of 2025. The final regime will start gradually as from 2026.
